Conducting Self Assessment Surveys Improves Program Operations

Ethics officials developed a self assessment survey to evaluate the effectiveness of the agency’s ethics program. Survey questions evaluated respondents’ awareness of criminal ethics statutes, agency ethics officials, and other ethics-related topics. The survey also evaluated how satisfied employees were with ethics training and advice and counsel provided by ethics officials. The use of self-assessments, such as surveys, helps ethics officials determine which areas of their ethics program require more attention and therefore increases the efficiency of the program.
